Something is happening on a very subtle level.  I AM eating less and today, I ate a salad at one of my usual places.  Normally, I ALWAYS buy cookies to take home, but today, I did not!  I saw them when I ordered my salad and even talked about buying some with my friend, but I got up and left and didn’t! Just now, which is about one and a half hours after lunch, I had the thought, “What do I have that”s sweet?”  Then, another voice kicked in:  do you really want/need something else?  You had a very nice, healthy lunch…. WOW!!!  In all my years of dieting (about 30!) I don”t recall ever having that dialogue with myself.  Last night (day 3 of listening) I ate a lot less than usual.  I”m not stopping for more breakfast stuff on the way into the office, either.

    I have Zen of Thin which did help me “love to exercise” – I go to Curves six days a week, But did not help me take of weight (actually did at first, but I got scared, I am sure, and avoided the “parts” session.)Anyway, then, stopped listening for awhile and had trouble sleeping so went back to listening. I have great success with the “wake up happy” sessions on my mp3.
    So now I looked at the Sweet Dreams and it looks essentially the same as Zen, except for muscle and sugar. I also have a CD with sugar buster, stomach staple, oh I think it is called EAT THIS! So maybe the only session I am missing is muscle. Also love power naps!

      It sounds like you are well armed. Don’t be afraid of the Parts THerapy session, it is really important. Find out what deeper conflicts you are holding onto and release them!

    Thank you for these ‘cinch’ podcasts…they are great.
    I also have had so much benefit from your CD’s…have used many of them from Back Pain Relief to Heal your Body to Cat Naps, Stress Relief,etc……

    My youngest son, 17 yrs, has listened to many CD’s too and they have helped him sleep and have given him some relief from his anxiety. He often says, “I want to go listen to my Wendi CD’s.

    For the last few months, however, my son has had some serious panic attacks that have turned into agoraphobia. He has now gotten glued to his computer games…he says they help him feel some relaxation, safety and control. I do understand that. We can’t take a family holiday or go to the beach for a walk-which he used to love to do. I have two other children and a husband who want to get out to do things. I feel gross leaving him home feeling crappy while I do things with the rest of my family.
    He and I have also tried EFT. I would love a miracle….I know you have some wonderful successes listed on your website. He is such a lovely young man.
    Any ideas for us? Thanks. I so enjoy all your newsletters, CD’s etc.

      A lot of people have told me I need to visit Vancouver. I just might put that on my list now!
      For your son, I know quite a bit about this subject. My son was smoking pot regularly in his teens and what he found was that the anxiety was caused by withdrawals so he smoked more to relieve it. Vicious cycle. He finally stopped. But we did a lot of hypnosis sessions together for his anxiety.
      Tricky stuff though. Hypnosis to find the cause of the anxiety is going to be the most important thing you can do. There is something fueling it. Perhaps something he doesn’t even realize.
      Find out if he is smoking pot. If he is not, check for other drugs. Then if no drug problems, find a great hypnotherapist who will help find the root cause.

  • Hi Wendi, fascinating to hear about ‘hypnotizing’ children (and partners :)
    There is a great method called ‘SleepTalk for Children’ which Joane Goulding pioneered in Australia with her daughter around 40 years ago. Joane and Jim Goulding were founding ‘god-parents’ of hypnosis and hypnotherapy in the State of Victoria, Australia.
    As you will understand, (and this advice is for listeners who maty be tempted to do their own thin” one thing to be careful with is to ensure that the suggestions are positive, ie… don’t say, “You will NOT be naughty.” (the sub-conscious mind doesn’t understand a negative – ask for what you want, not what you don’t want) and to ensure they will be ‘longlasting ie “You are a good BOY” (he won’t be a boy forever).
    Joane’s technique is now available online at http://www.smart-parenting.com – there is a free ebook that tells why it works, and the entire ebook on what to say and when to say it is available for a a modest fee.

      I would LOVE to read and review this book. I am really excited to hear that there is a book like this for parents!
      I think the Sleepy Kids CDs work in this same way. The suggestions are positive and they put the thoughts we WANT them to have into their minds. And the kids are happier as a result.
      I will go look at the book link. I hope others will go check it out as well.

  • Wendi I have had a few of your cd’s in the past . I have a couple issues I struggle with
    1 . Drinking I seem to be able to abstain during most week days but come Friday and I am right there thinking about it by 3 pm . And when i am sitting by the pool or the beach or going to a party or social function I usually will get primed up a little beforehand and hit them pretty good while I am there
    2. I have some anxiety issues . I have had them for years thats the reason I drink before going . I have noticed that the older I get the less I can drink w/o being sick the following day
    3. The drinking undoes all the progress i make at the gym . I start going regulary for a few months and then stop last winter I was in almost perfect shape . I was proud of it esp being 54 . then the cycle starts over again
    Im not sure if fixing it will happen with a cd program or if I should seek other help .
    4. I need to keep motivated when training and to stay off drinking
    My father is 84 and he still drinks I feel like Im morphing into him

    • Thank you for your honesty. I do understand how your mind is feeling the torture of the alcohol thoughts.
      And if you read the testimonials on my alcohol program you will understand that you can also have the freedom from your obsessive thoughts. You are right to look at your father and see that this will NOT be you. Right now you are looking at him and just worrying about turning into him. That won’t get you the freedom you want.
      Change the pictures, images, feelings and outcome will change.
      OK, I have an idea. I will record a method to help change your focus. Stay tuned… I will send out a newsletter or post it on my facebook page.

    • Yup, I have heard of it. I actually did it long before them. I called it Stomach Staple. Yes, the idea is that you simply feel full fast after a few bites. It doesn’t need to be from a hypnotic gastric bypass or stomach stapling, but it is ONE of the effective ways to get you to feel full with small meals.

    • Animals. Hmm. There are animal hypnotists. I don’t know. I have some ideas about how our thoughts are shared with animals, and those thoughts can affect them, but not sure about hypnosis actually.
      I know that cats LOVE to be close by when someone is being hypnotized.

    Hiya Wendi..Another fan from Ireland. I have been plagued with insomnia for years. Its weird I get hyper and wake up nearly on the hour. Have crazy dreams toss and turn. Then sleep and wake up at five or six exhausted…Its only then that I could realy sleep…but its to late cause as ya know a gals gotta make a livin…Wendi HELP PLEEEEZZZE

    • Love to help.
      There is some reason that your mind thinks you should stay alert and awake at night. Have you tried the session on my sleep program that helps you uncover the cause of insomnia? That is really important. You have to find the underlying cause and release it. I used to have horrible insomnia on some nights. I did the process of finding the cause and started sleeping great. I know how scary it can be to think about going to bed each night.
      Let me know if you have the sleep program.

      Love to visit Ireland soon! Maybe you should entice me to come and give a seminar there.

    Hi Wendi,

    In your expert opinion, is it true that whole-body “ailments” like pregnancy nausea (plus not being able to find anything appetizing to eat) that lasts for most of the pregnancy can be helped through hypnosis? I would love to have another child, but I felt so ill last time (and top that off with a vomiting phobia that has been somewhat but not all the way helped by hypnosis) that I’ve put it off for years, and I’m not getting any younger. I’ve found that my emotions respond well to hypnosis, but it doesn’t seem that my physical body does as much. Do you have any thoughts on this?

    • There are people who use hypnosis for this, and I don’t know about the results but I suspect it would be very good. There certainly are physical things that are causing this, but anything you can do to simply command the body to change the response to pregnancy would be helpful.
      Do a search on morning sickness and hypnosis, see if you find any positive stories.

    I don’t think that sleep learning would work because the information goes into your subconscious and that’s where it stays after you wake up.

    What we need is a trick to pull that information out of our subconscious. I haven’t found one yet.

    Mark Cunningham once said that when you have one of those times when you can’t remember somebody’s name (or similar situation), that’s your subconscious saying, “I know the answer but I’m not going to tell you! Nyah, nyah, nyah!”

    • I don’t think the learning or influence is totally hidden, it just needs to be activated. Or you need a trigger to bring it to the conscious thought.

    Wendi: Whadya got in a subliminal CD that will enable me to lose weight & maybe give me some more energy that will work better than the “Do It Now” set I bought that put me to sleep almost immediately and had no effect? (presumably ‘cuz I was out like a light and they weren’t intended for subliminal use) I believe in the whole Hynosis concept & think I should be able to find something useful.

    • If you heard my recording that I did in this newsletter, you heard me say that subliminals don’t work!
      You are right about needing to participate mentally in the DO IT NOW Program.
